![]() I had historic codes to clear in the ECM, PIM, BCM, ECBM(ABS), Radio, and SRS modules. I then went to all the modules and cleared codes. It will delay for a second before starting (assuming its learning the code).ĩ. Get in the car, turn the key to off, then start the car. More noises will happen, it will ask for the IMMO (PIM) code. Connect the Tech2, Candi, the car itself, and the pass-through to the SPS laptop all at once together, despite what all the information on the internet and the actual GM Service Manuals say.Ģ. Solved: After some trial and error I figured it out. I have also re-linked the BCM to the PIM and PIM to the BCM successfully. Is there a special procedure for linking the PIM and ECU?Ī bit more information, the " Vehicle Theft Deterrent Learn" option is not coming up in the Service Programming System section of TIS 2000 like a few sources say. Jontall, question for you, I used the SPS routine on the Tech2 handheld to gather ECU information, then went to the computer, ran the Service Programming System, it downloaded the latest "os" to the handheld Tech2, then plugged it into the car to reprogram, it reprogrammed, but it again did not seem to re-learn the security code. Ordered mine, came in 4 days! Everything seems to be in order, I am running a dedicated laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit on it for the TIS2000 software and have not had any issues yet. Not quite sure what a good solution would be here. so you'd have to keep the tech ii and buy an expensive cable to do a handfull of things unless you trust some bootleg cracked copy of tech2win from somewhere. so you'd be paying a hefty amount for an interface that works just for reflashing or certain types of relinking. genuine copies of GDS2 and tech2win are quite expensive. The problem is, an sps2 subscription isn't expensive. someone with more knowledge on the subject like or might know for sure. i don't think tis2000 is supported by GM at all anymore. you might need that cable for the handful of things the tech ii won't be able to do. pretty sure you can use the sps2 to program with the tech ii as the interface, but not 100% sure it will do everything you will need it to. remember all the issues Concealment with linking his PIM? you can't use the tech ii for some things. Close and re-open GlobalTIS, and the software is activated.I think you need to use the newest sps2 for reflashing/relinking and a cable that is truly MDI2/GM compatible, like a mongoose or a bosch GM MDI2.
